Back to basics

What I'm into (again) at the moment: very basic, unspectacular outfits - in a good way.

For the twill of it

A great colour for autumn: Essie's limited edition "For the twill of it" – a shimmering purple and green. More of my favourite beauty products here.

Hello October!

A couple of days ago I shared my favourites for autumn on Brigitte's blog "stylenotes" (in German) – some of which you can see on the above photos. Tartan scarves and dark nail polish, for instance. I am also loving my Acne Donna boots very much. They have already become my favourite every day shoe, which means, my Pistol boots are finally getting a break. What I am wearing with them: skinny jeans by Acne, leather jacket and checked shirt from Zara, an old scarf from a tiny shop in London, cashmere sweater and COS cashmere beanie, and - as usually - my PS1.

New interior inspiration

I am moving to another apartment next month, so my mind is preoccupied with decoration (besides all the bothersome organisational things). The apartment has two connected rooms and a fireplace, so I am collecting inspiring images that might be useful once we have moved the furniture and the one million boxes.

Inspiration: the kitchen

I've been thinking about decoration and interieurs and had a look at my Pinterest board to browse some inspiration images. These are some details that I like for the kitchen.

Cosiness in a candle

Happy weekend to you! It's getting a little bit colder every day and I am lighting candles again to make my flat more cosy. Diptyque's new scent "Noisetier" has already become my new favourite for autumn. It smells of wood and hazelnut. Do I need to say more?

Autumn/winter wardrobe

For me, especially in autumn and winter it's important to invest in high quality pieces. Maybe it's because they have to stand all the rain and snow and really need to keep me warm and help me get over the terrible weather. This year I would love to wear a classic pea coat, preferably this one by Isabel Marant. I'd pair it with my J Brand leather skinnies and a cashmere sweater, like this classic one by Equipment or the leo version by By Malene Birger. Of course you also need a warm beanie, the above is by Acne, and good boots. Acne's Donna are my new Pistol boots (I am wearing them right now). This Givenchy bag would add a splash of colour. I'd like to wear my nails black and wear jewellery by Catbird.

Moodboard

I am confined to bed due to a virus, so I have time to look at the million images on my computer (and tumblr). Here's a moodboard inspired by Hedi Slimane's "Dance Part 2" for Saint Laurent (which I find absolutely magical), a mixture of delicate beauty, elegance and strength.

Plaid on plaid

Here are some outfit snapshots from last weekend when we took the train to Sylt. It was pretty windy on that island! (That's why my face looks to strained on the photos - I was trying to stop my eyes from tearing in the wind). I'm wearing Acne jeans, an Olive T-Shirt, Zara shirt (it also comes in red), a huuuge Zara scarf and Buffalo ankle boots (both of which I showed you here). And, of course, my PS1 again.

In my bag

I always love "in my bag" photos and since it's been a while since I last posted one, I thought I could share my "what I carry around with me" with you. My favourite everyday bag is my PS1. What's inside: my phone (currently in a Rilakkuma case), headphones, my neon pen, Caudalie Eau de Beauté face spray, my new "Mon Monogram" wallet, my keys (with my chocolates key ring), hand lotion by l'Occitane, Chanel compact make up and a lipstick, Illesteva sunglasses and travel-size perfume (currently I love Diptyque's "Philosykos").

On my mind: the Boy

To be honest, Chanel bags are almost always on my mind (see? see?) ... I own a Jumbo classic flap and I thought I was sure that my next Chanel bag would be a Medium to complement the larger version (the Medium is great for daytime and evening). But now I'm thinking: Maybe I should get Le Boy instead? It seems a bit more robust, which means it might be better for everyday use ... What do you think?
