Illustration

So here's what I did in London: I took an illustration course at Central St. Martins College. It was amazing and I think I learned a lot (thanks to Bill Wright, Alice Tait and other lovely people). Here is a little example from my term project. And a drawing I gave to my sister as a Christmas present. Happy Holidays!

Wish List (after return from London)

I spent last week in London (I will talk about the reason for that trip later) and of course I saw soo many beautiful things. But since I did not go there for shopping, I only wandered around town a bit in the evenings and had to leave a few shopping desires unfulfilled. So here's a Christmas wish list including all those things I would have liked to buy. ;)
Truffles, pink ornament sketchbook and laptop case from Liberty (one of my favourite department stores in the world), bracelet from Whistles, bunny lamp from Caravan, Maurice Poirot moustache mugs from Magma, Mulberry Alexa (still cannot decide which colour I like best), tartan scarf from Burberry.

i like my style issue 4

When I came home today I found a huge letter from "i like my style" waiting for me. I made it into issue 4 of their new magazine and they sent me a copy. I think the issue turned out great!

Glitter shoes

When I went into my favourite second-hand-shop last week I found these amazing glitter shoes (for a handful of Euros). Imagine what they look like at night when you wear them in bars or clubs! A few days later I saw Miu Miu's crystal-embellished shoes online and, as much as I love Miu Miu, I have to say I prefer the second-hand-version. :)

heavy rocks

I usually fall for delicate jewellery but the work of these jewellery artists is strangely fascinating. The rough, edgy look of the rings and necklaces is definitely something else, isn't it. You can find them at Etsy. In the top picture: Babette World, in the lower picture: DollyBird Design.

Marrakech

The weather is grey, grey, grey in Germany, so I am surviving on my memories of my holiday in Marrakech, the warmth and beautiful colours of that city. Oh, and try making a thé à la menthe in the Moroccan way - it's soo good.

New Mulberry Leo Bags

Leopard prints seem to be everywhere this season (even on some pieces that should definitely not have it - trenchcoats?), and as always when a thing is omnipresent it's running the risk of getting boring, I think. Which is why I find Mulberry's slightly new takes on the leo print very refreshing. Take these bags, for instance: the Lily (via Net-a-Porter), patent Alexa (via My Wardrobe), and Bayswater Pouch (via Mulberry) still make me want to spend my money.

Paper Sculptures

I discovered Anna-Wili Highfield's art via the design blog "Creature Comforts". Have you heard of her? She lives in Sydney and creates these amazing sculptures out of painted cotton paper which she sews together. (She also makes horses but as you know I love birds, so I'm showing you these examples). I am so impressed I don't know what else to say but - Wow!

Glam Heels

Not long till the season of partys, balls, fancy dinners etc. etc. A good reason to buy new glam heels (those kind of shoes that you can wear when you take a taxi from your home to a fancy place, stand or sit there for a while, and then take a taxi back). I put together a selection of glamourous shoes that got me excited. Clockwise: Topshop chiffon bow sandals, Asos party peeptoes, Topshop glitter shoes, Buffalo sandals, Head over Heels Pumps (via Asos), and Buffalo blue suede sandals. I think the last ones are my favourites.

Purse Search

Who would have thought that it's so difficult to find a nice (zip) purse? I feel like I have searched the entire internet and the above two are actually the only purses I liked – top: Yves Saint Laurent, bottom: Anya Hindmarch. Both are not exactly in the price range I was thinking of. Does anyone know where to find pretty purses?

Dots and Stripes

Here's what I wore yesterday: my usual Breton shirt from Petit Bateau, skirt from American Apparel, big cardigan from American Vintage (soo warm and cosy – my new favourite for this winter), dotted tights from Zara, shoes from Cox, necklace from H&M.

Duffle Coat

It's been quite a while since my last post - I was busy with my dissertation and then I urgently needed a break. But now I'm back online. In the meantime it has become pretty cold and wet in Germany. I bought myself a new coat: a navy duffle coat from Topshop. And here's what I'd like to wear with it: boots from Buffalo, hat from Topshop (isn't it sweet?), denim shirt (this one is from J. Crew), sweater (this one is Vince), bag from Anya Hindmarch, bird ring from Solange Azagury-Partridge (via Net-a-Porter).

Mocassin boots

I know it's autumn when I swap white for red wine, dream of evenings by the fire place and run around the city looking for the perfect cashmere sweater. While I still need to stuck up on warm sweaters I've already found the ideal boots for this season when it's constantly alternating between warm and cold: comfy suede moccasin boots by Minnetonka. I love them!

Pole Dancing Kate

I'm just writing a portrait of Kate Moss for ELLE and I wanted to remind you of this highlight: the music video of "I just don't know what to do with myself", directed by the brilliant Sofia Coppola.

Give me a stage and a microphone

I'm really into the trashy glam rock style at the moment. On the top of my wishlist: a fringe leather jacket and studded boots like these from Topshop teamed with a sequin shirt (this one is from Proenza Schouler). The bag is a new version of the PS1 by Proenza Schouler, the snake ring is by Aurélie Bidermann and the shorts are by Current/Elliott via Mytheresa.

I can see us dancing together

It's strange how sometimes you walk into a room without a clue that you'll be struck by love within the next seconds. That's what happened to me in a Zara store in Berlin. I saw this dress and I knew it's the dress, my dress. It's made of rosé coloured tull and I loved it so much I wanted to never let go of it.
... Well, I did not buy it eventually for financial reasons. But I do hope we will meet again.

News from Kings of Leon

I am quite excited about the new Kings of Leon album which is coming out on 15th October. It's called "Come around Sundown" and I already love the first song they released from it. You can listen to it here.

A Sunday Outfit

Here's what I wore in the Botanic Garden: trenchcoat, vintage school bag, vintage shoes, my new skirt from American Apparel and (of course) a Breton shirt. Pictures were taken by Patrick. Oh, and I took photos with my Diana camera. Can't wait to see the results.

Style collages

These are some looks I put together on Elle online. It was last autumn but I'd still wear them. Talk about "trends" ... ;)
