Les filles en Vogue

I just noticed that the documentary "Les filles on VOGUE" from 2010 is on Vimeo! If you did not get the DVD with your copy of French VOGUE at the time, you can now watch it online (maybe you've found that out already ...). Don't you love a little peek behind the scenes? I have watched this film about ten times already because two of my favourite models, Sasha and Freja, are in it.

The world of diptyque

Maybe you can tell from my Instagrams that I'm a fan of the diptyque scented candles (but who isn't? They're so chic!), yet I only recently tried the diptyque perfumes and body care. There are three fragrances that I particularly like: "Philosykos", "Ofrésia" and l'Ombre dans l'Eau. Sooo nice! Especially the first two. You have to go and check them out. They're divine. 

The Chanel mini

I assume you know which "Chanel Mini bag" I was referring to yesterday, but have a look again. Now which one is your favourite – Louis Vuitton's new "Vivienne" or "Mini Chanel"? ;)

By the way, here are some other small bags I have considered.

Excited for Louis Vuitton Parnasséa

I am sure you have heard of the Louis Vuitton Parnasséa collection, made of very luxurious leather like Box, Racine and Cashmere. Only five more days until it will be available in stores! I had the chance to check out my favourite model, "Vivienne", on the weekend - and now I love it even more than from the photos I had seen before. You can wear it in three different styles: with a long shoulder strap, with a short handle or as a clutch. The leather is so so soft! And – surprisingly, because I do not usually like big logos – I find the golden logo lock very tasteful and classic.

I always thought the mini Chanel was my favourite evening allrounder-bag but now it seems I have to reconsider this ... What you should know, however: "Vivienne" is about double the price as Chanel's mini bag. All this considered, what do you think of it?

Travel notes Thailand - part 2

Here are some more photos from my trip around Thailand. I already miss my daily fresh fruit smoothies and fresh coconut. (I think I will have to get a blender so I can make my own smoothies for breakfast - especially a blend of pineapple, lemon and ginger! Mmhh!)

Other essentials included banana or mango pancakes (very tasty) and Jasmin blossoms which smelled so lovely and made any accessories unnecessary when worn in your hair. I was also amazed at the sheer amount of orchids you would see everywhere - piled up at the market, adorning drinks, ... it was crazy!

The first photo shows the highest spot in Thailand, where they built a little shrine for a former king. A very beautiful place in a relatively cold, rainy forest, in which water dropped from every branch and fog hovered above the ground! There was moss on every statue but they were decorated with fresh flowers. Magical!

I also loved the embroidered handcrafts you could find everywhere. Maybe I should have gotten a waistcoat or a jacket? There was not enough room in my backpack. 

Travel notes: Thailand - part 1

I don't know where to start ... We had a great time in Thailand. If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen what I've been up to. We travelled from Bangkok to the north  around Chiang Mai and then to the islands in the south for some well-deserved beach time and sunbathing. It was so nice to wear a Bikini and either denim cut-offs or a simple tunic every day and neither care about make-up nor hair styles (after all that's what it's about, isn't it?) - so I am afraid I cannot show you any outfit pictures. I hope you enjoy my travel photos, though. 

I had fresh coconut and pineapple shakes daily and with a bit of luck (or research) you could find some delicious vegetarian meals in every place we visited (I'll miss these fresh spring rolls and fried rice dishes). If you're planning a trip to Thailand and would like some recommendations, send me a message. A must do: snorkelling in the coral reefs around Koh Tao. These colourful fish were absolutely stunning! In terms of places so stay ... We stayed in these hotels, which I can recommend: Zazen on Koh Samui (maybe the most beautiful resort I have ever seen! And definitely the most atmospheric Spa I've been to), Sensi Paradise and Haad Tien on Koh Tao (both are right on the beach), Shewewana in Chiang Mai and the small but charming hotel Phranakorn Nornlen in Bangkok.

Back!

I am back from Thailand. More than three weeks of travelling were exciting, exhausting and relaxing at the same time. I will post some photos of my trip soon and share some recommendations for everybody who's planning a visit. Above are some of the things I brought home: coconut oil (my new obsession for skin and hair), lots of colourful bracelets and anklets, a bandana, some corals and shells I have found on the beach and a fresh flower chain which almost survived the 12 hour flight.

All packed

Denim shorts: check, light summer dresses: check, sandals: check, sunglasses: check, holiday read: check, ...  I think I'm ready to fly to Thailand. Will share my experience when I'm back home. 

Early summer

Remember when I talked about my wardrobe staples? These are some essentials for early summer (or never-warm-enough summer in Hamburg): Breton shirt (this oversized one is by Gestuz), light blue jeans (my new favourites are by Topshop – I could wear them everyday) and ballet flats. I'm wearing it with a vintage MCM bag and my beloved Illesteva sunglasses. 

Gypsy Water

I first heard about Byredo when I went to visit my sister in Sweden. As I love black and white designs for my home I was immediately drawn to the beautiful puristic packaging. When I received "Blanche" as a Christmas gift it quickly became one of my favourite everyday scents (it's so descreetly nice, like linen that's just been washed). Now I found a new companion for summer: "Gypsy Water" – isn't the name enough reason to make you want to use it? To me it seems perfect for the carefree summer spirit.
