Instagram diary

Sorry it's been so quiet over here lately. It seems like I have either too much work to do or it feels too hot to do anything - or both. So here's a little Instagram diary - that's the least I can do, isn't it. Thank you, The Locals, for the little streetstyle snapshot from Berlin Fashion Week. Fashion Week: what I wore

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen my photos and videos from Berlin Fashion Week. I had a great time running around Berlin with my colleague Lisa - we made a video, which I will share with you asap. Here's what I wore on day 2 of fashion week: a sweater by COS which I have had for years, a silk cami dress by Asos (similar here), Susanna boots by Chloé and Boy bag by Chanel. The sunglasses are by Illesteva.

L'eau d'été

When I was younger I used to think eau de toilette or eau de cologne was nothing but an inferior version of perfume. After all it's cheaper, has less oils and thus the scent lasts shorter. How wrong I was (the ignorance of youth!). Thankfully with age sometimes comes a little bit of wisdom, so now I know that eau de cologne is simply perfect for summer. When it's warmer and you want to wear light, airy scents anyway what's more fitting than an eau de cologne?

I'm so happy that my favourite scent, Byredo's Gypsy Water, comes in a cologne version, too. <3

Bag crush: Chanel Paris-Dallas collection

You know I have a thing for Chanel bags - and currently I'm drooling over the Paris-Dallas collection, which is now available in stores. I especially like the bag on the last picture, which I stole from @lookdepernille on Instagram. How amazing it would look paired with a white summer dress!

Midsommar in Gothenburg

Last weekend I had a very special experience: I celebrated a Swedish Midsommar. My family met in Gothenborg, where we had rented this beautiful apartment. And we immediately started the Midsommar preparations, meaning the making of our flower crowns (my sister had specially picked wild flowers for us), before we headed to the main parks of the city, where everybody - as it seemed - had gathered. So many picnics! There was a band playing and when we arrived the dances around the Midsommar tree had already started. It only took us a couple of minutes to join the crowd. It was a lot of fun.
When you're in Gothenburg make sure to visit the islands near the city - they're beautiful and (if, like us, you're not in possession of your own boat) you can even reach them by public transport.
Of course we ate a lot. It's impossible to resist the Swedish cakes and pastries (and Swedish lunch is a great institution, too). ... Apart from food I spent most of my money on little additions to my apartment, as I fell for the interior design stores again (Artilleriet was a must on my list). I'll try to create a city guide for you soon.

Wardrobe planning: shearling jackets

I  guess it's part of my job that at the height of summer you start making sartorial wishlists for autumn and winter. I have yet to wear my proper summer clothes and to book a summer holiday (in which I can then stroll around sunny beaches in cotton tunics and kaftans). But I already know what I'll buy come autumn: one of the above shearling jackets. They are, from top to bottom: H&M Studio, Iro, Muuba.

Summer SALE: my favourites

The summer sale has started! I'm not telling you to go spend money (of course not), I'm just saying there are a lot of amazing pieces available at drastically reduced prices. These are my favourites: Isabel Marant Etoile tunic, Karen Walker sunglasses, Paige denim jeans, Isabel Marant belt, Isabel Marant Poppy pumps (yes, I love Isabel Marant's summer collection), printed Kenzo dress, Kenzo cotton shirt, Isabel Marant bracelet, and Jimmy Choo pumps. Hurry hurry!

Bandana bags and pouches

Exciting news! My very talented mother (who also made this backpack for me), has started an Etsy shop! You can now buy her handmade Bandana printed zipper bags online. I use mine as a cosmetic bag, for my iPod and headphones and as a jewellery bag when I travel. I love them! They also make great clutches!

Summer cotton: tunic, denim and folklore

I had the best weekend! It almost felt like summer holidays back in my school years, when days centered around lazy time in the garden, bike tours around the forests, and trips to the swimming pool. I really enjoyed the hot weather, ate cherries and strawberries, drank iced coffee and made colourful mixed salads. Heaven! Monday Sunday

It's my birthday today and I'm enjoying a long weekend (I turned Monday into a holiday). The birthday weekend started with seeing the Modfather Paul Weller live on Friday. Now I'm soaking in tons of peonies (my favourite flowers) and some sunshine. See you later!
