Love: Vanities bracelets

 

Have you heard of the brand Vanities? Thomas Franc and Vincent Ribat founded it in 2009 and their bracelets, hand-carved bone skulls on fabric strips, made the brand rapidly popular in the fashion world. Colette sometimes has them in stock (currently there are some on sale). As you might know I love skull bracelets (you can see my other ones here, here and here) and every thing that looks like it was collected on travels around the world – so obviously I fell in love with the Vanities designs at once. The idea is actually pretty simple, so if you know how to carve a skull and have a piece of fabric you can just make them yourself. ;)

The shirtdress

I love it when a shirt is big enough so you can wear it tucked into your jeans but also over a skirt so it kind of looks like a dress – like this Comme des Garcons Men's shirt that I found in a vintage shop. (Sorry, for the bad photo quality, it's a phone snapshot).

Yes, I've only just come back from my holiday – but my mind keeps drifting off towards Southern France and a house in the country ...

High summer

Just a quick Hello from the garden! I am wearing my good old vintage Levi's, vintage belt, a top by mbyM and a lot of bracelets (the necklace is my sister's). I love the double-armcandy-shot with my sister! Enjoy the sun!

Sale bargain

I love my turquoise Yves Saint Laurent "Arty ring" (it was still Yves Saint Laurent when I bought it – and it was sold out almost everywhere), my initial doubts wether it might merely be a temporary trend piece ended in smoke. It's a modern classic! And, believe it or not, you can currently get it for 50%/60% off in the Net-a-Porter sale. In red, turquoise, and blue. Hurry hurry.

The white lace dress

 

As I've said before my summer uniform usually consits of (denim) shorts and a shirt but I've been thinking about adding a white mini-dress to my wardrobe. Again and again I come across very tempting streetstyle photos - I've posted some images earlier this year – and you can find the matching dresses everywhere from Asos to Net-a-Porter. I can easily imagine wearing these dresses on holiday - but in the city? ...

First week of July

Summer is here! Finally! I spent the first week of July doing summery things like making fruit smoothies, eating fruit salad, cherries and strawberries, buying a new bike (not the one on the photo, sadly but mine's also quite nice), running and sitting outside in the sun and wearing shorts almost every day! Yay!

Les filles en Vogue

I just noticed that the documentary "Les filles on VOGUE" from 2010 is on Vimeo! If you did not get the DVD with your copy of French VOGUE at the time, you can now watch it online (maybe you've found that out already ...). Don't you love a little peek behind the scenes? I have watched this film about ten times already because two of my favourite models, Sasha and Freja, are in it.

The world of diptyque

Maybe you can tell from my Instagrams that I'm a fan of the diptyque scented candles (but who isn't? They're so chic!), yet I only recently tried the diptyque perfumes and body care. There are three fragrances that I particularly like: "Philosykos", "Ofrésia" and l'Ombre dans l'Eau. Sooo nice! Especially the first two. You have to go and check them out. They're divine. 

The Chanel mini

I assume you know which "Chanel Mini bag" I was referring to yesterday, but have a look again. Now which one is your favourite – Louis Vuitton's new "Vivienne" or "Mini Chanel"? ;)

Excited for Louis Vuitton Parnasséa

I am sure you have heard of the Louis Vuitton Parnasséa collection, made of very luxurious leather like Box, Racine and Cashmere. Only five more days until it will be available in stores! I had the chance to check out my favourite model, "Vivienne", on the weekend - and now I love it even more than from the photos I had seen before. You can wear it in three different styles: with a long shoulder strap, with a short handle or as a clutch. The leather is so so soft! And – surprisingly, because I do not usually like big logos – I find the golden logo lock very tasteful and classic.

I always thought the mini Chanel was my favourite evening allrounder-bag but now it seems I have to reconsider this ... What you should know, however: "Vivienne" is about double the price as Chanel's mini bag. All this considered, what do you think of it?
