Christmas gift guide

If you have started to think about what to get friends and family for Christmas, here are some ideas for girlfriends, sisters, and mothers. From top to bottom: dark chocolate selection (it seems like a boring gift, but I disagree. Here's a test: Do you like chocolate? Yes? And when was the last time you have treated yourself to a luxurious chocolate selection? Never? ... So ...), lightning bolt ear studs by Sydney Evan, pistol necklace by Ivy & Liv, neon pink notebook by Leuchtturm (who doesn't like a little pink/neon in their lives?), holographic iPad case by Marc by Marc Jacobs, glitter socks by Topshop (socks need some glamour, too!), sunglasses by Le Specs, luggage tag by Smythson (makes travelling no matter where so much better), "Gypsy Water" body wash by Byredo, and glitter nail polish by & other stories.

Million Dollar Christmas Wishlist

It has a long tradition that I make unattainable wishlists for Christmas on a regular basis. Here's what I'd like to get myself at the moment: Miu Miu glitter sunglasses, Catbird moon & star necklace, MSGM pullover with patches, Givenchy Antigona bag, Church's studded brogues, "Fleur d'Oranger" by Le Labo, collected poems by Rilke, crystal table lamp by Lee Broom, and Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel".

Welcome to Dallas

To feel most confident in my clothes I have to dress either like the wannabe-member of a rock band (did I tell I actually used to play in a band? See.) or like the cast member of a Western movie. Here, I am trying to go for the latter. I'm wearing my shearling coat from H&M's studio collection, a Zara shirt, Paige jeans and Topshop western boots. The coffee doesn't go with the outfit but it was necessary due to acute November-greyness.

BLK DNM

The search for the perfect skinny leather trousers can be a difficult one. I own a pair of skinny J Brands, and while I liked it very much when I bought it, the leather has stretched quite a bit over time, which means that the trousers are not as skinny anymore as I would like them to be ... Big problem, I know, but we still have to address it, no? ;)
I had been looking for another pair of skinny leather trousers for a while but was never sure which one to get - and now I can finally share a recommendation. Enter BLK DNM. I love the silver zippers and quilted details of the above trousers. I'm sure they'll become a new wardrobe staple this winter (got them at Anita Hass).
What I'm wearing with them: T-Shirt by Zara, cardigan by Monki, Chloé "Susanna" boots (which I found on ebay) and Chanel Boy bag.

Budget Beauty

Of course I like to indulge in luxury cosmetics from time to time, but there are some everyday products that have become favourites over the years and that really do not cost a lot.
Above are four of my beauty staples that I wanted to share with you. I have been using Maybelline's liquid eyeliner for years -  maybe because I have gotten so used to its brush and texture, for me it works best to create that cateye line.
When it comes to lip colour, in contrast, there isn't one brand that I like most. You can find anything from YSL, Chanel and Armani to drugstore brands in my bathroom. I own several lip sticks from the "Color Sensational" line by (again) Maybelline and, if you ask me, "Coral Pop" is one of the best colours among them.
I only recently came across the LCN blusher "Peaches and Cream" and it quickly became a favourite. It smells amazing (nomen est omen, I guess) and has a lovely discreet shimmering effect.
Last but not least, if - like me - you are a person who is never patient enough to wait for nail polish to dry, you simply must try out Astor's quick dry topcoat. It has made my life a lot easier.

In my fur

This jacket is going to become a good friend of mine this winter. You might have seen it here and it's still available in the Asos store. I love that it's super soft and fits very much like a vintage fur coat (without that greasy feel that old fur tends to get). I'm wearing it with a grey tank top by Paige, very old Topshop Baxter jeans and Topshop Arson Flame western boots (seen in the last picture).

Interior inspiration: vintage rugs

Once it gets colder and we have to spend more time indoors I know I will begin to work on my apartment again. I need to buy paint and repaint some furniture, I still have to find the perfect dining table, I need to buy more lamps (beautiful lamps make such a difference!), and I'd love to get some old, worn out rugs for the hallway.
