Gypsy Water

I first heard about Byredo when I went to visit my sister in Sweden. As I love black and white designs for my home I was immediately drawn to the beautiful puristic packaging. When I received "Blanche" as a Christmas gift it quickly became one of my favourite everyday scents (it's so descreetly nice, like linen that's just been washed). Now I found a new companion for summer: "Gypsy Water" – isn't the name enough reason to make you want to use it? To me it seems perfect for the carefree summer spirit.

New discoveries in illustration

I just wanted to show you some talented illustrators that I've come across lately. From top to bottom: Caitlin Shearer, Dixie Leota, Yelena Bryksenkova, Fumi Koike, Ingebord Schindler, Uli Knoerzer, and Jason Brooks, whom, I suppose, you will be familiar with, has published a new book: "The Paris Sketchbook" (it will be my weekend read).

Dare to wear pink

There was a time when I loved wearing pink - but that was long ago before I discarded the colour for being too blatantly girly. However, some time and wrinkles around my eyes later (haha) I do not worry about this anymore and actually toy with the idea of readopting pink into my wardrobe. The above examples prove that it can look very cool and grown-up indeed. Image sources here.

Rethinking the piercing II

In January I fell in love with the piercings in VOGUE UK and the jewellery by Venus by Maria Tash. After following J. Colby Smith on Instagram for a while I think I am ready for a new earring. I have two holes in my left ear and one in my right, so I think there's still potential ...

Smells like teen spirit

Despite all retro fashions and nostalgia I was never the one who attended 90's parties or was secretly hoping for 90's trends to return (I always preffered the 20's and 60's anyway). On the contrary, I was more than glad that the times of neon techno looks, cropped shirts and Buffalo platform sneakers were over. But I have to admit that something's changed for me this year ... It might have started with Dries van Noten's hommage to Kurt Cobain – which was definitely the cause for the fashion world revisiting the 90's – and it quietly led to me listening to the soundtrack and watching the films of my teens again (it wasn't all bad, was it?), a reviving interest in my old Doc Marten's boots (I've kept them all those years) and the occasional reaching for my boyfriend's checked shirts – and I even enjoyed a 90's party very much. Along with all this I have also rediscovered the classic scent of the 90's which I used to wear every day back then: ck one. Remember it? I am glad there was still something left in the bottle.

Silver moon

Perfect addition to my mini star necklace: round silver plate by Vanrycke. I love her "Petites Ames" collection (I think I'll have to save up for a mini diamond necklace). On the above photo I am wearing: leather jacket by Balenciaga, shirt by Zara and vintage belt.
